When you import certain Excel (.xlsx) files using the IMPORT procedure, using DBMS=XLSX might cause the following errors: The xxx indicates the column number that is failing. The problem occurs when the column heading contains special characters such as the asterisk ( * ) or other unprintable characters. This problem occurs in SAS^® 9.3 TS1M0.

To avoid the problem, use SAS 9.3 TS1M1 or later.
